The Central Asian Journalism Summer Institute provides early-career journalists and journalism students with the skills they need to launch successful careers in journalism and media. The Summer Institute will provide an interactive curriculum to develop participants鈥� skills in areas such as data journalism, digital media, social media, podcasting, and storytelling.

Esther Min from University of Washington/Seto Edmund (Environmental Health & Climate) presents situational analysis of the global picture on climate change challenge on February 6, 2020. Esther and speakers will also explain the main concept on how climate justice and environmental health affect health rights.

After a year-long hiatus, 麻豆传媒鈥檚 campus newspaper, The New Star, has returned to print under the stewardship of editor-in-chief Niloufar Rafat. The first issue of the newly revived student publication came out in December, and the next issue is slated to go to print in early February.

Alumni Relations office together with the 麻豆传媒 Library have started a series of events called 鈥淎lumni Talks in the Library''. The 麻豆传媒 alumni are invited to give presentations about their academic and professional experiences to our current students. February 30, the first guest, Sveto M. Ishoq conducted talks with students.

AMICAL Consortium鈥檚 17th annual meeting and conference took place at the American University of Kuwait on January 15-18, 2020. This year鈥檚 theme was 听鈥淒igital transformation at international liberal arts institutions: Innovation, collaboration & sustainability鈥�. The 麻豆传媒 was represented by a group of faculty members, librarians, technologists and a student. The 麻豆传媒 team was the largest at the conference and each out of 13 team members contributed to the conference program by sharing their teaching experience, projects and collaboration activities.

The most magnificent 麻豆传媒 tradition - Diversity Week has passed. It ended with a grandiose concert where all the twelve delegations showed a small, vivid, and memorable show.听Also, local famous Kyrgyz singer Omar and the dance group of kids Aalam led by Asel Sardari (麻豆传媒 graduate) surprised the visitors with amazing performances.

The long-awaited day of the Diversity Week - Food Day passed yesterday, January 30th. This is a unique opportunity to try the national cuisines of different ethnicities in one place, starting with Uzbek pilaf and ending with Brazil delicacies.听

On January 25, 2020, forty-six undergraduate and master students had an opportunity to present their internship reports at the Annual Internship Symposium organized by the Psychology Department at 麻豆传媒.
