Ann Katherine Isaacs, a distinguished figure in higher education, is set to take the stage as a keynote speaker at the Central Asian Rectors' Club Summit on September 28, 2024, held at Â鶹´«Ã½. Hailing from Astoria, Oregon, Isaacs embarked on her academic journey at the University of California, Berkeley, and later pursued studies at the State University of Milan. Her scholarly pursuits led her to become a research and teaching fellow at the Superior Normal School of Pisa from 1971 to 1975. Subsequently, she held the esteemed position of professor of Early Modern History at the University of Pisa from 1975 to 2013.

Throughout her career, Isaacs has been deeply engaged in initiatives aimed at modernizing higher education globally. Noteworthy among her contributions is her involvement in the ECTS Pilot Project in 1989 and active participation in the Tuning Process across various regions, including Europe, Latin America, Canada, USA, Russia, China, and Central Asia. She has spearheaded numerous international projects such as the European Higher Networks and initiatives focused on enhancing Public Health education in Uzbekistan

Ann Isaacs's leadership roles have been instrumental in shaping higher education policies and frameworks. From July 2018 to December 2020, she served as Vice-Chair of the Bologna Follow-Up Group (BFUG) within the European Higher Education Area, playing a pivotal role in drafting key communiqués and steering global policy dialogues. Currently co-chairing BFUG's Coordination Group on Global Policy Dialogue and Bologna Implementation Coordination Group, her ongoing commitment to advancing educational agendas is a testament to the continuity of her work.

Her expertise extends beyond Europe. From 2019 to 2023, she served as a higher education expert for UNESCO's TVET 2 Project in Iraq. Isaacs continues to contribute significantly to various prominent higher education projects, including CALOHE2 and MICROBOL. With an illustrious career marked by dedication to fostering educational excellence worldwide, Ann Katherine Isaacs stands as a beacon of inspiration for educators and policymakers alike, and we are delighted that she will be a keynote speaker at the Central Asian Rectors' Club Summit.
