On Wednesday, September 11, Â鶹´«Ã½ launched an intensive three-day Big Data course for university students and faculty, organized by the Software Engineering department. The course is taught by Professor Jennifer Widom, Dean of the School of Engineering at Stanford University.

An outstanding scientist, professor of computer science and electrical engineering, winner of prestigious awards Jennifer Widom is a member of the International Association of Computer Engineering, the National Academy of Engineering of the United States and the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. She has dozens of scientific publications, over a hundred reports and four academic textbooks on database systems.


So many people wanted to enroll in a course for Jennifer that the organizers decided to abandon the idea of holding it in an ordinary classroom and chose a university conference hall for this purpose.

The course contains 19 modules, starting with a general overview of big data, tools, and methods of working with them, and ending with the rules for using certain programming languages for machine learning.
